The barrows of the long-dead kings loomed up before them as they picked their way through the mists. The ranger was alert for the slightest sound as she peered through the mists that began to grow thicker. A chill foated on the breeze that was blowing through teasing the rangers hair, and causing her to draw her cloak tighter about her body. She renewed her grip on her sword and trudged after Red and the other man.
As they passed a large barrow whose opening had been sealed with stones the ranger wondered about its occupent. She had oft heard tales told by her father of these barrows and their inhabitants. Her own ancestors could have been burried here, but instead of instilling respect and honor this was a realm of fear and cursed beigns. The Witch King had sent these wights here to what purpose she didn't remember. If only the barrows could be cleansed for once and for all to let the dead rest in peace.

Approaching the barrow he was set upon, he draws his sword slowly, walking towards the entrance, exmaning the slab of stone that blocks the way. "Hmmm..."

Red walked up beside him. "Hmmm... good stonework, let's see....." He pulled his dagger from his boot, and looked at the edges of the stones. He put the dagger in a crack, and tried to pry a little. "Pretty solid." He walked, softly softly knocking in the stone, and put his ear, listening. "Hey, this is solid stone, and I mean solid." He stepped back, and patted Aranath on the shoulder. "Have fun getting in, if you need help, just say the word, which is Red." He put his dagger back in his boot.

With a slight smirk, Aranarth looks to Red. "Getting in is the easy part...I hope." Having said that, he sheathed his sword, exmaining the edge of the slab.
"There is always a weak point. Its just a matter of finding it...or the handle...or we could just knock and ask politely to be let in..."

Red laughed. "I was thinking about that, but I dont think anyone living here would take kindly to us."

"I hope you know what your doing." The ranger responded looking around uneasily. She shifted from one foot to the next fingering the hilt of her sword. "Somehow I never thought of myself as a grave robber before. Nevertheless my curiosity has been stirred. And I have not spent much time here on the downs, nor have I ever been inside of a barrow"

A chuckle. "Aye, I think the wight, or wights, inside might not like us intruding, but...this place isnt theres. Barrows with wights in them are dangerous. Be wary. They are usualy dark places, full of death and decay while the wights still reside in them, defiling the dead kings and princes of old Arnor."
He taps on the rock, near the upper right corner, getting a rather hollow sound, then beside it on the frame, receaving a similar sound. "Ah. I told you I would find the way in." Taking something from under his cloak, looks to be a hammer, he slams it on both slab and frame a few times, watching them crack. Studing the pattern, he glances back to the other two. "Might want to stand back."
With that, he turns back around, and slams the hammer again onto the slab and frame, quickly peddling backwards as the frame starts to colapse, the slab with it.

Red took a step back, and waited for the rublle to settle. He pushed it to the side, then put his hand on the slab, and pushed, grunting. It slowly slid to the side, and he straightened up. "I've never robbed a grave, but I have gotten in to a couple. Good practice for breaking into things. And if whatever is around didn't know we were here, it sure does now. ANd I didnt take a thing from the graves, for the record, I only got in. It was easy."

"Grave robbers? Nay, we are not such. We are simply returning the grave to its propper status, and to kick out the robber inside." Smiling, somewhat with a insane notion behind it, he walks into the barrow, drawing his sword not.

The ranger nodded at his reply and seized a length of dead wood. She wrapped a strip of cloth from her backpack around its tip. Then with a little oil and her tinder box she lit it on fire for a torch. She followed the man into the dark opening. Inside of the barrow she found it was larger than it appeared extending into the mound, and down under the ground.
She could see a shadow moving along the wall, and drew her sword smoothly from its sheathe. She noticed the others were watching the shadow as well. She moved forward slowly with her sword at the ready.

Moving with intent, yet still slowly, Aranarth walks towards a pile of weapons in one of the corners, carefuly glancing about. "Be very carefuly where you step..." Thus said, he now unsheaths his sword, still moving towards the pile of weapons.

Red nodded. "I'll stay here, and make sure nothing gets in. Ge out of here as fast you can, we don;t wanna stay long anough to incite a party here." He sat down at the entrance, and laid his sword over his shoulder, watching for anything.

"If anything does make an appearance, worry not about me. Both of you flee if you can." Is his only response as he kneels beside the weaponry, slowly moving it about, not seeing the mist forming on the far side of the barrow, in darkness.

He continues to look through the pile, setting aside swords, daggers, axes, and shields, muttering to himself.
