Actually, I know who Adie is... I'm about 1/3 of the way through book 2 of The Sword of Truth right now. It's an excellent series so far.
Anyway, my books are about an Oxford folklore and mythology professor, his students, and two Scotland Yard detectives who get zapped into a parallel universe where everything they learn about in their classes (dragons, elves, vampires, demons, etc.) actually exists. The name of the series is "Mythology 101". It borrows from a lot of other stuff right now (most notably Harry Potter and The Belgariad), so I'm trying to tinker with it and make it more original.
Anyway, I know that's slightly different from what you're writing, but if we can help each other then we should try... so if you ever need anything just ask, and I'll try and deliver.

Yeah!!! Sword of Truth is so awsome. My favorites one in the series so far is Wizards First Rule, and Faith of the Fallen (book 6). That one has such awsome moral underlying messages. I used to know the first 3 Wizard's Rules by heart. No more, I really need to reread those books. I have the first 8 right now.... and I think 9 is out in hardcover!! *is so not sure so don't listen to me*
It sounds really awsome. And you can only get so orginal when it come to fantasy creatures like dragons and such. Are you going to include any old skool mythology like the Greeks, Romans, and Norse?
And if you need anything from me, don't hesitate to yell or ask or whatever. I might be able to help.... I mostly know stuff about old skool mythology. But I know NOTHING about dialouge! I suck so bad at it! Lucky for me 1st person narratives can avoid dialouge a lot ^.^'

Yeah, first person is really easy. I wish I could do it with this series, but there are just too many major characters. The only dialogue I can do with my series so far is humorous stuff (stuff you would probably hear during an episode of Buffy). Like when the Scotland Yard detective walks into a fantasy/gaming shop to find a bunch of mangled bodies, he says, "Let me guess... full contact Dungeons & Dragons?"
And yes, I am including some old-school stuff... there are a lot of Greek critters, in fact (centaurs, harpies, minotaurs, sirens and a hydra -- the centaurs are good guys and everything else serves the Dark Lord Morbaruk, the main villain).
I don't know enough about the Norse stuff to include much of anything... I know the gods and stuff, but none of the cool mortal creatures.

For Norse mythology, there's a good book called Mythology by Edith Hamilton. I regard it as my bible of mythology, figurativitly speaking. It has stuff on Greeks, Romans, and Norse. It has a lot of good information on the Norse stuff too. The Norse were such depressed people. Most times in mythology the people fought, knwoing they would win and they did against overwhelming odds. But with the Norse, they were going to die in battle, they knew it, and their only hope was to die fighting so they get to go to Valhalla.

Since this was the last place I saw anyone talking about wanting to get an RP going, I suppose I'll leave notice here, in case you haven't seen... Allatar has made his way to "A New Threat at Isenmouth". Maybe that'll jumpstart some RPing, eh? (By the way, if you want to have your character previously know him, go ahead, he's travelled quite a bit.) Huzzah for spurts of creativeness/writing urges!

And I get scary if I don't get a happy hour a day. It doesn't even need to be an hour, just 5 seconds. I know, I'm weird and addicted. *snort* BUT YAY!

Deadman's Dike has truly become dead, unfortunately.
