Bwahahaha I'm so excited! My mom is 92 - 100% certain that we're getting DSL! That means we're probaly gonna get a wireless router which means I can hook up the computer in my room! That sightly helps the problem of my floppy disk epidemic....I hate floppy disks with a passion, so why do I use them so much? Reason I hate floppys: Best story I ever wrote was called The Storm. Slightly influeced by LOTR, but then again what writing of mine ISN'T influenced by LOTR? One character was kind of a Strider spinoff, but it was still cool. Almost completly original plot and idea, it was beautifully written. All of my friends wanted copies, along with all of my teachers. Day before it was published in a program (this program was a nation wide thing, kids could get thier books buond and entered in a contest of all of them, there was seriuos talk of my story winning) I entered the floppy disk to PRINT IT AND SAVE IT FOREVER when the file wouldn't open BECAUSE THE THING BROKE!!!!! The only other source I had was my rough rough rough draft that only resembled the finished in plot. But it was better than nothing, I could recreate the story fro the rough draft. I get home, nearly in tears, and I find out my mom had thrown it away. And taken out the trash. And the garbage man had picked it up. Then I really was in tears, and there started my profound hatred of floppy disks. I've never been able to remember enough to recreate it. I only remember the plot, not all the names, and the last sentence =P
How did this get from DSL to floppy disk? Don't ask me.

Yikes! That's heart wrenching Red. I have DSL, but its still slow compared to other people's dsl. Its still faster than dial up, though. We do live out in the boonies, though so, I guess its to be expected. Not that there aren't people around, way too many if you ask me, but we live at least 2 hours from any big city.

Well, if you get a wireless router, be sure to at least enable WEP encryption (which I'm still trying to figure out why it isn't the default...), if not WPA. WEP is a rather poor cryptosystem, and a wireless packet sniffer and key assembler, like Airsnort, could crack a corporate network in about an hour. But it will still take about a week or month to crack a home network, so for your home, it's not too bad. Just watch out for your neighbors leeching off of you. And you could always specify only certain MAC addresses (although these can be spoofed and therefore will be open to brute forcing).

Who's Beth? It's just ocurred to me that "Airsnort" (one of the things that Avathar mentioned that went WAY over everybody's head ) would be a great name for a band. ;D

Beth is me, it's my real life first name and IS short for Elizabeth. However, I've been called Bethy, Bethany, Liz, Lizzy, Lisbeth, Elizabethany, and about a million other concoctions that my friends and family have thunk up to bug me -.-
And Wren, it's awsome your daughter's named Elizabeth, As much as I personally loath it being named it because I have millions and millions of unwanted nicknames, it is a very good name!

Elizabeth/Beth is a great name -- it reminds me of my favorite character in "Hellboy".

EEEEEEEE! NOT HELLBOY! *hides from it* I have some seriuos issues with that movie.... Was Elizabeth the girl that had the blue fire and like burned little kids when they made fun of her? Becuase she was cool. Hands down best power, though the aqua guy was awsome too.

Yeah, that was Beth. She's the first girl I think I've ever described as "hot" and meant it literally.

Red, all those nicknames is exactly why I chose to name her Elizabeth. I thought this way she could pick which she wanted to be called. We usually call her Lizard or Missy. Her names seem to change as she grows. Still haven't seen Hellboy.

Yeah, that was Beth. She's the first girl I think I've ever described as "hot" and meant it literally. Ahahahaha! That's so true! Not that I would discribe her as hot (that would give way too many people the wrong vibes), but that's so true! And it's weird, I've been Beth for forever. Like most kids I knows have had several different nicknames, but I have always been Beth. Never Liz, or Lissy, or anything close. Beth or Bethy, the end =P (and only my best friend can call me Bethy, everyone else....no. just no.)

We usually call her Lizard or Missy. Lizard? You could always do what I did and ask for the DVD for Christmas. And it's weird, I've been Beth for forever. Like most kids I knows have had several different nicknames, but I have always been Beth. Never Liz, or Lissy, or anything close. Beth or Bethy, the end =P (and only my best friend can call me Bethy, everyone else....no. just no.) Yeah, I've had a lot of nicknames too, including my SN. Although it seems my SN is inspiring "spinoff" nicknames now -- people on The Conclave call me Candybag.
